Do You Feel Tired? All The Time?
Did you know that most people are tired all the time with absolutely no energy? They go to bed tired, they wake up tired, they drag through the entire day tired. But, did you know that being tired all the time is a signal to your body that something is wrong?
Most people simply dismiss the tired feelings saying " I just need a day off." or, "I will feel better soon". Even worse, "it's not a big deal, I'm tired all the time".
In reality there should be a bell going ding dong ringing that something's going wrong, something's not right. Listen to the body for this is a warning system that needs a remedy before matters get worse.
It's kind a sort a like the brakes on your car. When the brakes start to squeak the dollar signs begin to flash. Hoping the squeak will somehow stop, it only gets worse. And as time goes on it becomes a more expensive fix. The same is true with your body and your energy level. Your body is simply trying to tell you something that there is something that needs your attention. And if you don't fix it, it will only get worse.
Always feeling tired? Here are a few simple tips that may give you an energy boost. Tap into your extra energy reserve with the following pick me ups. Try them all and select the ones that work best. Work them into a plan that you can do follow 4-6 times a week.
Simply Take In More Oxygen
Give These Tips A Try! Select Your Favs!
1. Breathe Deeply
Oxygen is an excellent source of energy but we do not take advantage of this God given source. The art of Yoga uses this system to energize and strengthen the body. Fresh air also helps rid the body of waste materials too. Start each day with this exercise and it will give your brain and muscles and instant boost.
Sit down in a comfortable spot with your back straight and head level. Keep your mouth closed and inhale deeply through your nose. Try to bring the air deep down into your tummy. If you are doing this correctly place one hand on your tummy the other on your rib cage and you should feel them expand. Try to hold your breathe while you count slowly to 16. Repeat this up to 10 times.
This Works Wonders!
You Might Need A Vitamin Supplement
2. Drink Plenty of Water
Dehydration is a common
energy drainer. How much water do you drink each day? Try drinking a
large glass when you wake up and any time you feel like you need a pick
me up. If you do not feel thirsty try to drink a minimum of eight 8 oz glasses of
water everyday.
3. Supplement Your Diet
You may be suffering from malnutrition. Your body may simply be missing out on the required key nutrients, minerals and vitamins it needs. Running on empty so to speak. If you are not getting the daily requirements in your diet, consider taking vitamin supplements. I have found Iron and vitamin Bs to be the biggest culprits. However, diseases that may have an affect are blood sugar and/or thyroid levels. These may require a special look. Check with your doctor.
4. Eat a Healthy Starchy Snack
A healthy food or snack high in carbs like toast, a banana or an orange will provide an easy source of energy. Forget the fast food and potato chips.
5. Take a Quick 2 Minute Shower
This
is really invigorating and it stimulates your blood circulation. Start
with warm water and alternate to cool. Avoid Hot and avoid cold. And
avoid wetting your head as these sudden changes in temperature might
make you dizzy.
6. Give Yourself A Towel Rub
What a way to start each day! Soak a clean hand towel in hot water and squeeze it out. Then begin to rub you skin vigorously working from toe to head. Redip the towel in hot water when it cools off.
7. Go for a Brisk Walk
Rather then slumping in front of the TV or computer because you
are too tired go for a brisk walk, or jog in place, or stomp
your feet, or shake your arms and hands. Get the blood flowing and when
you do oxygen will begin flowing to your tissues. If you can not manage this due to time begin this simple work out for just 5 minutes a day and gradually increase to 30 minutes a day. You will be amazed.
Manage Weight
8. Stand or Sit Up Straight Posture is key. Good posture improves energy levels. Do not sit slouched over. Stand tall, shoulders back, tummy in, or from a sitting position do the same.
9. Manage Your Weight If you are over weight you might need to shed a few pounds. Carrying around the excess weight can make you very tired. Losing weight is simple, just take in less than physically exerted. There are no quick fixes. Just be careful to ensure you are still getting the required vitamins and nutrients. If you are on medication that cause you to gain weight, please consult with your doctor. Even if you lose 1-5 pounds it will improve your energy levels.
10. Take a Nap A 20-30 minute nap will do wonders for you. It will revitalized your mind and your body especially right after lunch. Your body systems are busy working on breaking down your lunch. Your concentration and memory may suffer. A short siesta after lunch will revive you like a charm. (This one is my personal favorite)
